The Eticas Risk Taxonomy Is Now Part of IBM's Risk Atlas Nexus

IBM Research has added the Eticas Risk Taxonomy to IBM’s Risk Atlas Nexus, its open-source toolkit for AI governance. The integration shipped in release v1.2.4 of the underlying ai-atlas-nexus library in July 2026, and it is available to every team using the tool today.

Risk Atlas Nexus brings together the resources organizations need to govern foundation models: risk taxonomies, benchmarks, mitigations and the knowledge graphs that connect them. Adding the Eticas Risk Taxonomy alongside IBM's existing catalog gives teams a structured way to map the eight risk dimensions Eticas has defined — Bias & Fairness, Privacy & Confidentiality, Reliability, Governance, Security & Misuse, Environmental Impact, Transparency & Explainability, and Agentic AI — directly onto their own model risk assessments.

Teams that want to see the taxonomy in context can explore IBM's UI demonstrator, the Risk Atlas Nexus Space on Hugging Face, where it sits alongside IBM's existing risk resources. Some example use cases are provided, but you can describe your own application in detail too, and see the risk dimensions it is exposing you to.

This integration reflects what the Eticas Risk Taxonomy is built for: giving auditors, developers and governance teams a common, evidence-based language for AI risk that plugs into the tools they already use.
